SIBA, the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates, was founded in 1980 to champion the interests of the UK’s independent breweries. Today, it represents over 1,000 independent craft breweries, supplier companies, and associate members, including homebrewers and international brewing partners. SIBA serves as the leading voice of independent beer, promoting the sector and lobbying government on behalf of its members.
In addition to advocacy, SIBA organises regional and national beer awards across cask, keg, bottled, and canned categories, and hosts regional meetings to support member collaboration and growth. It also runs BeerX UK in Liverpool—the UK’s largest beer and brewing trade event—bringing the industry together to network, learn, and celebrate independent brewing.
