The British Metals Recycling Association (BMRA) represents the £7 billion UK metal recycling sector, supporting over 300 organisations that handle more than 10 million tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous metals annually, including steel, aluminium, and copper. Its members range from small, family-run businesses to large international firms involved in activities such as collecting, sorting, shearing, baling, shredding, and media separation.
The BMRA helps members stay informed about regulations and industry developments while addressing operational challenges. Member companies recycle a broad array of materials, including end-of-life vehicles, packaging, domestic appliances, building materials, batteries, and electronic goods, contributing significantly to sustainable resource use across the UK.
