The Scottish Seafood Association (SSA), established in 2011, serves as the national voice for Scotland’s seafood, processing, and trading sectors. With around 70 members across the country, the SSA represents a vital part of the UK seafood industry—nearly half of all processing jobs in the UK are based in Scotland, including 3,800 in the Grampian region alone. The Association’s core mission is to secure a sustainable and prosperous future for the Scottish seafood processing sector, supporting local economies, creating jobs, and providing career opportunities.
Scotland’s seafood industry is globally renowned for its quality and diversity, and SSA members are recognised leaders in supplying top-tier products to regional, national, and international markets. The SSA’s primary goals are to position Scottish seafood as the consumer’s first choice and to establish Scottish processors as the preferred suppliers worldwide.
